Michael Pohlod, M.D.

Dr. Michael Pohlod, a Michigan native and lifelong Wolverine fan, combines academic excellence with a passion for eye care. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Biology with distinction at the University of Michigan, he pursued medical school at Tulane University, where his interest in Ophthalmology flourished. Influenced by Dr. Barrett Haik, Michael conducted research and case studies that solidified his career choice.

Following graduation, Dr. Pohlod served in the Navy, completing his internship at Portsmouth Naval Hospital and spending a year as a senior medical officer in Okinawa, Japan. Returning to New Orleans, he completed an Ophthalmology residency at Ochsner Hospital, where he earned commendations and served as chief resident.

Today, Dr. Pohlod is a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist specializing in advanced surgical techniques, providing exceptional care to his patients.
