Why Our Costs Are Lower Than Hospital-Based Surgery
Because we perform surgery in an outpatient setting, our expenses – and our fees to patients – are substantially less than what they would be for surgical procedures performed in a traditional hospital-based setting. These savings are not only passed on to our patients, but also to Medicare and the insurance industry. There is no safer, more affordable way to perform the type of eye surgical procedures we offer at Raider Surgical Center than in an approved outpatient setting like ours.
I have more questions about payment options. Who should I ask?
If you have specific questions about charges or payment arrangements, please feel free to discuss them with one of our office supervisors. Please contact us by calling our office at 956.429.4900. We’ll be happy to assist you!
What time will I arrive for my surgery?
We call the patient the day before surgery, to inform them of their arrival time. If their surgery is on a Monday, we will let them know the Friday before.
What can I eat?
The patient CANNOT eat or drink anything after midnight the day before surgery and cannot eat or drink the morning of. If the patient takes blood pressure, cardiac, thyroid, or seizure medication in the morning, they CAN take this with a very SMALL sip of water prior to arrival.
Will I have pain?
Pain varies per individual; fortunately the majority of our patient’s experience no pain to minimal discomfort.
