Dr. Elcio Roque Kleinpaul is a highly experienced physician (Brazil), advanced practice registered nurse, and certified surgical first assistant with more than 26 years in medicine and over two decades of surgical experience. His diverse clinical background spans surgery, internal medicine, emergency care, and intensive care medicine, bringing a uniquely comprehensive perspective to patient-centered healthcare.
Originally trained as a physician in Brazil, Dr. Kleinpaul earned both his Master of Science and Ph.D. in Medicine before building an extensive career in clinical and surgical practice. He served as an ICU and Emergency Room physician, led complex surgical procedures, and founded and operated his own ophthalmologic institute for nearly two decades. In addition to clinical leadership roles, he has also contributed to medical education as a university professor and scientific director.
After relocating to the United States, Dr. Kleinpaul expanded his professional scope by becoming a Registered Nurse and Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA), actively assisting in surgical procedures at AdventHealth. He is currently completing his Family Nurse Practitioner training at St. Thomas University, further strengthening his commitment to delivering comprehensive, evidence-based care across the lifespan.
Dr. Kleinpaul is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the American Board of Surgical Assistants (ABSA). He also holds current ACLS and BLS certifications through the American Heart Association. His areas of expertise include surgical assisting, postoperative evaluations, patient assessment, emergency care, internal medicine, preventive care, and patient education.
Fluent in English and Portuguese, and proficient in Spanish, Dr. Kleinpaul is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care with a strong focus on safety, precision, and clinical excellence.
